About Us

We are focused winegrowers who believe that true excellence comes from restraint, discipline, and deep respect for nature. For us, wine is not a commodity—it is the result of hundreds of thoughtful decisions made throughout the growing season, harvest and vinification. It’s the culmination of decades of hands-on experience, at the highest level of care, rigorous experimentation, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way—even when the right way takes longer and costs more.

Our journey began with a simple idea: that the right vineyard, if chosen carefully and farmed with precision, could speak for itself. We sought a site that would allow us to produce a wine capable of showing strength of character and beauty—a wine that is unmistakably reflective of its place. After years of searching, we found our home in the western foothills of Calistoga, on volcanic soils at 500 feet elevation, where the sun’s arc and the slope of the land align perfectly for balance and ripeness.

Every vintage we release is an expression of that singular place. We don’t manipulate the wine to fit trends or expectations—we let the site guide us. From organic farming to barrel fermentation, we rely on practices that preserve purity and reveal character. Our wines are not filtered or fined, and are uncompromising.

We are not trying to be the biggest, the flashiest, or the most talked-about. We’re trying to make the best wine we can, with the expression of a very special and unique site—quietly, deliberately, and with care.

A Philosophy of Place, Precision, and Purity

At our core, we are winegrowers—not just winemakers. Every decision we make, from the original site selection to soil health to fermentation technique, is guided by a deep commitment to expressing the true character of this special place through the lens of each unique vintage. Our vineyard, nestled in the western foothills above Calistoga, was chosen with intention—for its elevation, soil, and exposure—all of which allow us to grow Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varieties that reflects both focus and elegance.

We believe that great wine always begins in the vineyard. Our high-density, organically farmed, hillside vines are carefully nurtured using low-intervention, non-irrigated techniques that prioritize soil vitality and vine longevity. Each step in our viticulture is designed to coax supple yet age-worthy tannins and capture our vineyard’s distinct voice.

In the cellar, we take the same care. We ferment 100% of our wine in small French oak barrels, a labor-intensive process we pioneered in California. This gentle method preserves the integrity of the fruit, the character of the site, the influence of the vintage and allows for soft, seamless tannin integration—without fining, filtering, or shortcuts of any kind.

Ours is a deeply personal pursuit: to craft wines that elevate the experience of those who drink them. With each vintage, we aim to offer not just a bottle, but a connection—to the land, to tradition, and to the enduring pleasure of wine made with intention.

Subscriber Invitation

We produce very limited quantities of our wine each vintage, offered exclusively to a small group of subscribers who share our appreciation for authenticity, purity, and place. If our philosophy resonates with you—and if you find meaning in wines that speak softly but with depth—we invite you to join us.

By requesting to become a subscriber, upon receiving confirmation, you’ll acquire access to our annual allocation, along with occasional offerings of library releases and special formats. More than that, you’ll become part of a small community that values timeless craftsmanship over fleeting trends.

Ours is not about volume. It’s about trust, continuity, and a shared respect for wine as a living expression of nature and intent.

If you’re ready to explore what that means in the glass, we welcome your inquiry.
